Three J’Pura Professors vie for VC post

The Governing Council members of the Sri Jayawardhanapura University have held a vote, and seven academics

have given their nominations for the Vice-Chancellor selection contest. The names of three persons are to be submitted to the President as recommended by the University Grants Commission and the Higher Education Ministry.

Accordingly, steps have been taken to forward the names of Prof.Shirantha Heenkenda, Prof. Padmalal Manage and Prof.Surangi Yasawardena to the President.

These nominations were to be forwarded to the Higher Education Ministry with the recommendation of the University Grants Commission yesterday (13), after which the President will take the final decision in this regard.
