Police said that an argument broke out between an optometrist husband and a specialist doctor recently in Rakwana city center based on the suspicion that his wife, who is also an optometrist, was having an affair with a specialist doctor. The optometrist has also lodged a complaint with Rakwana police regarding the argument between the two.
According to reports, while running a private dispensary in Rakwana, a specialist working in a hospital in a well-known city in Sri Lanka has also started a service where spectacles can be purchased for money inside a section of the dispensary with the intention of providing better health services to the people. The eye service was carried out by a private vision care company, which was staffed by an optician and his wife. It is reported that the optometrist has stopped his wife at the Rakwana dispensary during his duty hours at similar vision care centers he is having in other cities during weekdays.
It is common practice for the specialist to visit this dispensary every weekend. Meanwhile, it is said that an affair between the optometrist’s wife and the specialist who owns the dispensary has developed.
The optometrist husband, who has confirmed that his wife is having an affair with the doctor who owns the dispensary, has recently asked the doctor who owns the dispensary about this, and at that time many patients were waiting at the dispensary to get treatment from the specialist doctor.
The dispute between the two had spilled out of the dispensary and into the city. It is reported that later the optometrist lodged a complaint with the Police regarding the incident and left the dispensary with all the eye examination equipment.
Later, both parties were called to the Police and the incident was settled and released after a warning, said a senior official of Rakwana Police Minor Complaints Division.
