Following a stern warning Colombo Chief Magistrate Prasanna Alwis yesterday ordered the release of 26 suspects on personal bail of Rs.100,000 each who were arrested by the Kurunduwatta Police and brought to Court for trespassing on a land with a two-storied house worth Rs.2,900 million at Barnes Place, Colombo 7. The Magistrate released the suspects on bail, warning them that if they enter the property again illegally and produced in Court, they will be sent to prison.

Attorney-at-Law Manjula Pathiraja who appeared for the suspects said that they were workers employed to work in the relevant property. Two people who are said to have rented the house also presented documents before the Court.

It was mentioned before the Court that a Colombo Municipal Councillor had also come to the location during this unlawful entry. After considering the relevant facts, the Magistrate warned the suspects and released them on bail.
