Sabotaging ‘Aswesuma’ launch and DDO

Today we are talking about a very important topic. That is how certain saboteurs who are behind every ‘issue’ of this country and very successfully sabotaged one programme of the Government and how they failed to do the same for the second programme of the Government. We are talking about ‘Aswesuma’ and Domestic Debt Optimization (DDO).

By now almost all Sri Lankans no matter whether they are male or female, adults or children, rich or poor know very well who sabotage everything in this country done by all previous Governments and the current Government. These saboteurs’ only dream is making everything a failure and maintaining their popularity among the people by accusing every Government for everything and sabotaging everything done by every Government. This is how they maintained their vote base which is now only three per cent.

They very successfully forced all relevant public servants to withdraw from initiating the ‘Aswesuma’ programme several months ago and they did it through their trade unions. Accordingly, they withdrew and kept themselves away from collecting data from the grass root level before designing the programme and the high officials such as District Secretaries and Divisional Secretaries needed to deploy all possible (other) public servants to get the work done at the grass root level.

This is how Samurdhi Officers, Grama Niladhari officers etc. kept them away from their official duties and only some other public servants such as Development Officers etc. had to be deployed at village level to gather information on eligible families. It was the Grama Niladharis and Samurdhi Officers who had the experience and required connection to the grass root level and who knew A to Z about the families, their income, wealth, illnesses etc. The public servants who were deployed to do the task did not have any idea about the homes and the occupants of those homes they visited and only depended on the details provided by occupants of those homes.

Those Development Officers etc. who did the job just carried out another official duty and they were not worried about the accuracy of the information provided by the households. It was just some visits to houses and filling a small booklet with the details provided by the occupants of those houses. Those public servants were inexperienced, irrelevant for the task and most of them were from the Facebook generation who are just killing time in State offices using social media because those graduates do not know how to work. This is how the Three Percent achieved their target successfully at the commencement of the ‘Aswesuma’ programme.

There is no point in describing the rest of the process because the end result can be witnessed these days in front of Divisional Secretariats. The most pathetic part is not that. Only one politician openly pointed out this pure act of sabotage by saboteurs and no other politician pointed it out. They have forgotten the past and they only remember things only for two weeks just as any other Sri Lankan citizen.

The second attempt of sabotage by the very same saboteurs was very successfully vanquished by the Government by now and it was something unexpected by the saboteurs. Sri Lankan people are very intelligent now and they think twice before doing anything now, especially after the so-called ‘Aragalaya’ which gave them nothing but more troubles. This is how the Government very successfully launched the DDO Programme without any hiccups after declaring a five day Bank Holiday which astonished the saboteurs who were eagerly waiting to antagonize the people against the Government.

Unrests in the country means popularity and votes for the saboteurs. This is because they do not have anything else to show as their own and at least they do not have a crowd to display during meetings and protests. That is why they fill buses with their supporters and transport them hundreds of kilometres from one meeting to another. They were waiting to antagonize people against the Government and to display kilometres long queues opposite every State and private bank in the country.

The farsighted vision and mission of the Government defeated the sabotage attempt of the saboteurs. Feeding the people with accurate information through press conferences and mass media was one strategy used by the Government and all relevant officials very successfully. Educating the public commenced after closing the door for the saboteurs.

Unfortunately the relevant high official who initiated the ‘Aswesuma’ programme a long time ago could not do it and the Government was extremely busy with saving the country from the financial crisis. The President cannot go after every single public servant of 1.6 million public servants and guide him/her to carry out his/her official duty. It is the sole responsibility of all public servants to serve the State and not for saboteurs. It does not happen because they are a part of saboteurs. They think that the saboteurs are from ordinary people and not from a tiny vicious political party. This is where it goes wrong. But there will be no next time because by now the Government knows who sabotaged what on behalf of whom.
