Swiss investors are keen to invest in Sri Lanka, said Switzerland Ambassador, Dominik Furgler. He indicated this to Federation of Chamber of Commerce (FCCISL) top officials who met the ambassador last week in Colombo.

“The Swedish investors are keen in the areas of apparel, agriculture and fisheries. They are already in negotiations with the Export Development Board and FCCISL also to be a partner in that process.” He mentioned some of the large Swiss companies have a very long and strong presence in Sri Lanka. The Switzerland Ambassador also indicated to us that many possibilities to improve business and business contacts with Switzerland are there,” President of FCCISL Keerthi Gunawardane said.

“FCCISL president and the members indicated the capacity they encompass with a large regional chamber base, national and product related chambers as our members. FCCISL appreciated the discussion points with regards to apparel, agriculture and sea food which will support a large number of businesses as well as a work force directly and indirectly involved in these sectors. We had a discussion to have a good future plan to attract Swiss travelers to Sri Lanka which can be helpful for our immediate foreign currency crisis.”
