Probe into Grade Five Scholarship question paper issue

A full scale investigation is being carried out by the Education Ministry on the issue reported in the Ehetuwewa Bandaranayake Navodya School in the Galgamuwa Education Zone during the Grade Five Scholarship Examination held last Sunday (18).

Examinations Commissioner L.M.D. Dharmasena told the Daily News that the examination invigilators and the staff of the examination centre were summoned to the Education Ministry for an inquiry yesterday and their statements recorded.

The Commissioner noted that a full scale inquiry will help to find the reason for such an issue and for appropriate action to be taken. “No injustice will be done to the 13 students affected by the problem,” he said.

It was said that these students have been issued a fresh question paper instead of the question paper, for which they had been answering a few minutes after the commencement of the examination.
