"Thank you for being my biggest fan," said Angelo Mathews during his 100th test match at Galle as there was a stranger came to see the match on the third day.
The lady Nuwandi Randeepani Samaradiwakara (Randi) from Kandy came to see Mathews' 100th Test in Galle. She is the biggest Mathews' fan but first time met on last Tuesday at the Galle International cricket stadium. Randi the 25 year old Physiotherapist had a dream to meet Angelo Mathews from last 13 years and her dream came truth on this day. Randi's social media friend sent message about Randi and Mathews and ask her to come and meet. But this girl is in Kandy and she wanted to fulfill her dream .
Randi exclusively said to Daily News yesterday, I saw Angelo (Angi) first time on TV in 2008 when he played a one day game against Zimbabwe. Actually my age was just 12 years that time but I was really liked this Angi. All are big fans of Sanga and Mahela those days but I didn't know I was prefer to like most Angelo from this game I used to see all the Angi's matches.
I realized Angi has a injury and I thought I want to be Physiotherapist and then reach to Sri Lankan team as a physio and give treatment to Angi to get better and I already now become physio and completed my degree with in next four years and hope to join as Sri Lanka team Physio that's my ultimate goal said Randi.
I never been to Galle and this is my first visit to Galle to see Angi and one of my friend' s place I stayed and will come to see the match today and wanted to give gift to Angi.
Angi gifted a T shirt and he sign that and stated " thank you for being my biggest fan wishing you nothing but the best'.
When I was at Girls High School in Kandy my parents (my mother),asked me what are you going to be and I said I wanted to be Physiotherapist as to recover injury of Angi. That's my dream and now I got chance to meet Angi. I came with a banner to the match But security officers not allowed to bring that banner then I came to match but I was lucky to see the match at VIP area and Angi was fielding that area and I was thrilled that time. I asked some one to get paper and get black pen from a lad and also used my Matt lipstick to make banner and displayed. Angi showed that and he came to my place and ask what do you want. I was shocked and than get autograph. Finally I was lucky to get picture with Angi and he presented me T shirt and that's my special gift said Randi.
