Minister of Transport, Highways and Mass Media Dr. Bandula Gunawardena have been appointed as the Acting Minister of Education.
Minister Gunawardena has been appointed as the Acting Minister of Education due to Education Minister Susil Premajayantha his departure for the UNESCO Ministerial Conference on Education to be held in Paris today (28).
The Conference of Ministers of Education will be attended by 195 countries. It will discuss the impact of Covid on children’s education around the world, and the readiness to achieve a qualitative improvement in children’s education by 2030.
After attending the summit, Minister Premajayantha will arrive in the island on the 1st of July.
