Asian Cricket Council AGM today in Colombo

The Annual General Meeting(AGM) of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) is scheduled to be held today (19) at Taj Samudra Hotel Colombo. ACC’s Member delegates from all across Asia are set to attend this meeting .The officials of the SLC said representatives from 40 countries including India, Pakistan and Bangladesh, Afghanistan , Malaysia will take part in this meeting .

The Meeting will be chaired by ACC President and BCCI Secretary Jay Shah. In addition during this visit ACC President met SLC President Shammi Silva Secretary Mohan de Silva , CEO Ashley de Silva and other senior officials yesterday. Asia Cricket Cup 2022 will be hosted by Sri Lanka next August – September ACCis responsible for organising the Asia Cup tournaments.

It was in September, 1983, that the cricket boards of India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Malaysia and Singapore met in New Delhi and formed the Asian Cricket Conference. It was changed to Council in 1993.

Sports Minister meets top SLC officials

Meanwhile Sport Minister Namal Rajapaksa had a fruitful discussion with SLC top officials on Wednesday (16) The Minister said that there was an effective meeting on the development of current and future cricket.

“Decisions were made to bring in more reforms with the help of experts in the field to rejuvenate the country’s most loved sport “ Minister said on his twitter message. SLC President Shammi Silva, Secretary Mohan de Silva, Vice President Ravin Wickramaratne , CEO Ashley de Silva and Assistant secretary Krishantha Kapuwatte, Chairman of Umpires Committee Bandula Dissanayake were present at this discussion with the Sports Minister.
