First ever charter flight from Uzbekistan to arrive in MRIA

For the first time in Sri Lanka Uzbekistan Airlines will launch charter flights to Sri Lanka o a regular basis and the airline has decided to commence this weekly operation centering the Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport. (MRIA)

Aitken Spence Travels together with one of the leading tour operators will be bringing in the first ever charter flight to Sri Lanka from Uzbekistan from Wednesday. “ This is an absolute new source market that would generate around 1,200 passengers during this charter flight operations,” an official from Aitkin Spence said.

“The reason for the airline to pick MRIA was the attractive marketing and concessions that were offered by the government to airlines.” Uzbekistan tourists are high spenders and they would stay in four star hotel categories. Some tourists have already ordered private vehicles like Benz and Audi for their transportation in Sri Lanka making the group a high revenue generating opportunity.”
