University admissions to be decided in December

The University Grants Commission (UGC) intends to enroll students who have qualified to enter state universities, after passing the G.C.E. (A.L.) Examination 2020, during the first week of December, UGC Chairman Senior Prof. Sampath Amaratunge told the Daily News.

The students would be admitted to state universities in January 2023 for academic sessions.

He also said that in 2019, 30,000 students were admitted to state universities as internal students but for the year 2020, more than 42,000 students are to be admitted as internal students from those who have passed the G.C.E. (A.L.) Examination 2020 with higher Z-score marks.
