PHI assaulted in Vavuniya

Vavuniya Maharambakulam Police has arrested a man for assaulting a Public Health Inspector (PHI) in the Santasole area yesterday.

When the PHI was on his way to work, he had reportedly seen a young man on a motorcycle without a mask. The PHI had warned him and instructed him to wear a face mask.The youth is said to have had an argument with the PHI and then had assaulted him with a club.

Vavuniya Police and Maharambakulam Police are conducting investigations.
