Defending champions Chilaw Marians CC will start favourites to retain the title when the SLC Major Club Limited Over Cricket Tournament gets underway in Colombo today. Chilaw Marians CC will be out to make amends in this 50-over format after they failed to make an impact at the recently concluded SLC Twenty20 Cricket Tournament.
Chilaw Marians CC will launch their campaign with an away match against Galle CC today, and the rest of the opponents in Group ‘B’ are Panadura SC, Ragama CC, Lankan CC and Navy SC.
Meanwhile, the last year runners-up NCC are drawn in Group ‘C’ and will compete along with Tamil Union, Negombo CC, Ace Capital CC, Kalutara TC and Nugegoda SC.

(Group 'A'): Air Force SC, Army SC, CCC, Bloomfield, Badureliya CC, BRC and Kandy Customs SC.
(Group ‘B’): Panadura SC, Chilaw Marians CC, Ragama CC, Lankan CC, Galle CC and Navy SC.
