Dialog powers reawakening of National Volleyball

Sri Lanka’s premier connectivity provider, Dialog Axiata PLC stepping up to its national commitment of empowering and reactivation of Sri Lanka sports has come forward to power a two-day training and practice match at the Volleyball House Sports Complex in Galle.

With the commencement of training, the national squad was put through a rigorous process to build their skills, fitness and techniques utilizing the latest in modern technology in the world of sports. The national squad which was randomly split into two, also played a special exhibition match to identify new talent and skill gaps within the team in preparation for future international games.

Officials of the Volleyball Federation of Sri Lanka said, they hope the ‘reawakening’ programme initiated would spike interest for Sri Lanka’s national sport amongst the volleyball community in

Sri Lanka amidst the global COVID-19 pandemic. The two-day ‘reawakening’ training and development programme was held in accordance with the guidelines set by the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Sports and conducted under the supervision of the Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation.

“It is indeed encouraging to see the national pool of Sri Lanka Volleyball hard at work to stay ahead of the game and I would also like to thank the executive team of the Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation for organizing this event in accordance with the guidelines laid down by the Ministry of Health,” said Ranjith Siyambalapititya MP, President of the Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation. “I would also like to thank the national Volleyball team sponsor, Dialog Axiata for coming forward to assist the Federation in conducting such practice games that would keep the national team ready to perform well when international matches resume,” he further said.
