The Natural Hazards Early Warning Center has issued a warning of sever lightening to several provinces, which is valid until 10:30 p.m. today (Dec. 23).
According to the warning, “Thundershowers accompanied by severe lightning are likely to occur at several places in Sabaragamuwa and Western provinces and in Galle, Matara and Nuwara-eliya districts".
It further stated that, “There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers. General public is requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity.”
