Several towns in Jaffna and Kilinochchi were deserted yesterday, even though the government has not declared them as isolated areas.
Health Officials in the North have instructed to close all the shops in Kilinochchi and Jaffna due to the absence of employees in shops. In the past four days, 68 coronavirus patients were found at the Maradanamadam and Sangane shopping malls in Jaffna, and 1,094 people in those areas have been subjected to PCR tests.
Apart from that, 48 persons are currently being quarantined.
