A floral tribute was paid to the Civil Defence Department War Heroes Memorial at Mihintale, last Sunday, in memory of the department's War Heroes who sacrificed their lives for the motherland. On the occasion, which coincided with the 14th anniversary of the Civil Defence Department, a floral tribute was paid to the War Heroes of the Civil Defence Force who laid down their lives for the country. The Chief Incumbent of the Mihintale Rajamaha Viharaya was also present at this occasion.
Rear Admiral Ananda Peiris, Director-General of the Civil Defence Department; Udeni Serasinghe, Additional Director-General; Kumuduni Peiris, Chairperson of the Seva Vanitha Unit of the Civil Defence Department; and many other officials were also present. Relatives of war heroes laid floral tributes at the memorial.
