A monk who was arrested over allegedly molesting a law student at an office of the Supreme Court was granted bail by Colombo Chief Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne yesterday. The monk was released on a cash bail of Rs.10,000 and two sureties of Rs.500, 000 each. The Children and Women’s Bureau of the Maradana Police had arrested the suspect following an order issued by the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court on August 21.
The Magistrate fixed further inquiries for September 11.
