Charlize Theron may have an Oscar to her name besides being one of Hollywood’s leading action stars, but the actress has never featured in a Marvel superhero movie.
Theron, who played the role of Furiosa in the 2015 hit ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’, recently spilled the surprising reason why she has not been a part of the Marvel franchise or even featured in other superhero films.
In a podcast, the actress revealed that she has never been approached to play a superhero in a film before. Saying she has “never gotten anything” she went on to add that she was okay with paving her way and creating her own opportunities.
The actress impressed all with her performances in out-and-out action films like ‘Atomic Blonde’ and ‘The Fate of the Furious’ among other hit flicks.
Meanwhile, back in the Marvel camp, Brie Larson, Florence Pugh and Cate Blanchett were among the newest entrants to be cast in the hugely successful superhero films. While Larson bagged the lead role in and as 'Captain Marvel', Pugh is said to take over the baton from Scarlett Johansson in the upcoming 'Black Widow'. Cate, on the other hand, was cast as the menacing Hela, in 'Thor: Ragnarok'.
