President changed country’s political culture in 2019 – Dullas

President Gotabaya Rajapaksa changed political culture of the country on November 16, 2019 and the General Election on August 5 will change the rest, former Minister and SLPP candidate for the Matara District Dullas Alahapperuma yesterday said in Matara.

“Every single leader before President Gotabaya Rajapaksa had to pay ransom to corrupted, separatist politicians in Parliament because those Governments did not have a clear majority and adequate power to rule the country independently. The people should give over two thirds of the majority in Parliament for the President because he has already proved his capabilities to govern the country,” he said.

He said that the country was not destroyed by COVID-19 but by the Yahapalana Government. “A country needs political stability, responsible representatives in Parliament. The distorted Constitution and the 19th Amendment need to be corrected. That is why we need over two thirds in Parliament,” he said.

“The advanced political culture introduced by the President must be enhanced,” the former Minister said. “Now the people who did not vote for the President say two more years will be enough for President Gotabaya Rajapaksa to rescue this country from destruction. Sri Lanka’s past politicians cultivated evil which yielded bad harvest. We have to change it now,” he said.
