Minister Chamal in Jaffna on inspection tour

Minister Chamal Rajapaksa visited Jaffna and inspected the Vadamarachchi and Sarasale Water Schemes.

The Minister told the officials that the drinking water projects should be completed in eight years as estimated.

The project will provide drinking water to about 250,000 families in Jaffna.

As a result of researches by the engineers and scientists of the Irrigation Department since 2011, a pond was recommended to be built fed by the Ukku Aru and Vadamarachchi lagoons to collect rainwater in this regard.
