Police had arrested 1563 suspects over various offences during a special operation carried out in the Western province within a 23- hour period between July 18 (6 am) and July 19 (5 am).
Accordingly, Police had arrested 349 suspects with 208.776 grams of heroin, 158 suspects with 801.764 grams of cannabis, 14 suspects with 10.880 grams of ‘ICE’ (Crystal Methamphetamine), 206 suspects with 1296 of illicit liquor and 24 suspects with 63 (Barrels) of Goda, Police source said.
Among them, 771 suspects have been apprehended under arrest warrants and 41 suspects have been arrested over other offences including possessing illicit cigarettes, possessing ‘Mawa’ mixed cannabis, illegal massage centers, illegal sand and soil transportation and gambling.
Meanwhile, 2,093 in Western Province have been warned over failure to wear face masks and another 968 for not maintaining social distance.
