Navy apprehends two drug dealers

The Navy apprehended two drug dealers during two separate search operations conducted in Talaimannar and Pesalai on Sunday, the Navy Media Unit said.

During one search operation, Naval personnel attached to the Northern Naval Command, in coordination with the Talaimannar Police, apprehended a person with 25.75g of ‘Mawa’ in Talaimannar.

On the same day, a group of Naval personnel belonging to the same command, with the assistance of the Mannar Anti-narcotics Unit, arrested another suspect possessing 500mg of heroin, in Pesalai.

The accused, who are 40 and 70 years of age, were identified as residents of Talaimannar and Pesalai. Investigations are continuing.
