New STF Head

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Waruna Jayasundara was appointed as the new Commandant of the Police Special Task Force (STF) today (10).

DIG Jayasundara was in-charge of the Western Province (North). The former STF head DIG Lionel Gunathilaka has been appointed DIG in charge of the Trincomalee District, Police Headquarters said.

Four more DIGs have been transferred and new appointments have been made following the approval of the Police Commission.
