Protect children from accidents – Head and Neck Surgeons

The College of Otorhinolaryngologists and Head and Neck Surgeons of Sri Lanka requests parents to protect their children from accidents because the services of ENT surgeons has been restricted only to emergency treatment due to COVID-19 issue.

Meanwhile the Health Promotions Bureau (HPB) announces what should be done in case of developing a sudden heart attack during these days. The first medical treatment that can be given at home is chewing a tablet of Aspirin.

Then the Suwaseriya ambulance service can be called by dialing 1990 for sending the patient to the nearest hospital. But the patient or his/her guardian should make sure that informing the doctor/hospital authorities about fever and any pain/discomfort in throat experienced by the patient. 

The main symptom of a heart attack is chest pain, discomfort in the chest exists for around 10 or 20 minutes, the HPB announced.
