Dullas Alahapperuma, Minister of Education, Sports and Youth Affairs and Sri Lanka's Ambassador to Finland Harri Kämäräinen held a special meeting at the Parliamentary Complex yesterday.
The Government of Finland agreed to provide assistance to the development of several significant areas of the country's education system and to implement several special programs to strengthen cooperation between the two countries.
Among these programs are the implementation of Teacher Career Development Programs between the two countries, collaborative exchange programs between Teachers Principals, Teachers and Students in Sri Lanka to gain experience in Finland's education system.
The Ambassador and the Minister of Education addressed a number of issues relating to the preparation of project proposals for the development of relevant technical learning facilities at the National Colleges of Education, Teacher Training Colleges and Teacher Training Centers.
