Mullaithivu Magistrate S. Lenin Kumar issued warrant to arrest former Northern Provincial Council member M.K. Sivajilingam and produce him in court.
During a protest held in the Wattuwakal area in Mullaithivu demanding the returning of lands Sivajilingham and T.Raviharan had verbally abused and threatened the land officer and surveyor of the area and obstructed their duties.They had also damaged their vehicle. Mullaithivu Police had filed charges against them. However, when the case was taken up, the Magistrate issued the warrant for his arrest as Sivajilingam was not present in court.
This incident took place on February 23, 2018 and as the land officer and surveyor had complained to the Mullaithivu Police regarding this attack, police had commenced an investigation. However, Sivajilingam and Raviharan had failed to report to the police and they were subsequently arrested.
