Visa on arrival for Chinese citizens suspended

Health Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi has decided to suspend issuing ‘on arrival visas’ for tourists visiting from China after a 43-year-old Chinese tourist was detected with the new coronavirus in the country on Monday evening.

She points out that the decision is valid until further notice.

Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi made an emergency visit to the Katunayake airport last night to find out what measures have been taken to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
