Kanishka Wijeratne appointed as Director General of Bribery Commission

Ampara High Court Judge Kanishka Wijeratne has been appointed as the new Director General of the Bribery Commission by the President.

The appointment was made with the approval of members of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption. The commission stated that this will be effective from the 21st.

Former Director General Sarath Jayamanne resigned from his post last week. He was subsequently appointed as Senior Additional Solicitor General of the Attorney General's Department.
