National Policy, Planning Bureau to form economic policies - State Minister

Public Administration and Internal Affairs State Minister Mahinda Samarasinghe said public officials must work in their respective departments without political differences and affiliations to serve the public.

He said the Government will implement the Election Manifesto of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa in a very useful manner to provide facilities for Government servants and the citizens. The Cabinet decided to setup a National Policy and Planning Bureau to form economic policies to accomplish all economic goals of the country. The Cabinet also approved the proposal presented by Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa and the Minister of Finance,economy and Policy Development to implement the ‘Sapiri Gamak’ a rural development programme from January 1,2020.

The project will provide Rs.2 mn for each Gramasevaka Division under the programme. Samarasinghe was addressing the Panadura Divisional Secretariat’s Samurdhi Development Officers and the Gramasevaka Niladharis in the Panadura Division at a meeting held at the Panadura New Divisional Secretariat yesterday.

President the meeting the State Minister explained how the project is implemented Divisional Secretaries must be responsible to implement the project in a very successful manner Panadura Divisional Secretary Buddhini Siriwardena brought to the notice of the State Minister the present situation at the new Panadura Division Secretariat building. The building was opened despite shortcomings and she appealed the State Minister to look into the state of affairs at the new building. The Gramasevaka Association President and the Secretary handed over a memorandum to the Minister presenting their grievances.
