Black Widow is definitely dead in the MCU

Black Widow actress Scarlett Johansson has insisted that her character Natasha Romanoff is 100 percent dead in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Six months on from ‘Avengers: Endgame’, we’re still reeling from the decision to kill off Robert Downey Jr’s Iron Man and Black Widow. And any conspiracy theories out there about their present-day return have now been well and truly debunked.

Making an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Johansson explained, “There’s very few certain things, but like, definitely death’s pretty certain, right? And yeah, definitely for sure. And then people just don’t wanna, they won’t, they definitely don’t believe it and have tried to convince me that my character did not actually die, but that maybe my character existed in an alternate universe. But no, I think death is a final thing.”

Meanwhile, actress Rachel Weisz previously revealed that next year’s solo ‘Black Widow’ movie (it’s set in the past) will feature more than one Black Widow.

“There are quite a number,” teased the Oscar-winner.

“I’m a Black Widow and Scarlett and Florence [Pugh]. There’s quite a lot of other characters you meet who are also Black Widows.”
