'Denuwara Menike' to commence service from Nov 1

Considering the high commuter demand along the upcountry railway line, the Department of Railways has decided to add an S-14 class locomotive train.

This luxury train named ‘Denuwara Menike’ will commence its operations from Colombo Fort on  November 1.

This will comprises two first class compartments, two second class compartments and three third class compartments.

The Railways Department said that the seats to all these classes could be reserved in advance.

According to the Railways Department, all the compartments of this luxury train would be equipped with television and mobile phone charging facilities would be available in the air-conditioned first class compartment,
