Former National champion Chalitha Ranjana once again gave a superb display at the recently concluded New Zealand Open Table Tennis championship when he bagged two gold medals and a silver.
Chalitha from Seylan Bank who participated for the third time in this Invitation tournament at Christchurch won the over 30 silver medal and two gold medals in doubles events .He partnered by Shelly Smith won the over 30 mixed doubles gold while his third medal came in the men’s doubles partnered by Matthew Bowl .
Meanwhile Helitha Heawitharana the up and coming paddler who got a chance to play in this tournament won the bronze medal at the open mixed double event partnered by Gina Liu and also won two more medals in this tournament . Hasitha Samaraweera together with Jacqui Wood won the silver medal at the open mixed double event and also won three more medals in this event.
