Sri Lankan Ambassador to the Russian Federation Dayan Jayatilleka met with Russian Institute Director Mikhail Fradkov on August 9 at the Russian Institute for Strategic Studies (RISS).
The RISS established by the President of the Russian Federation provides information support to the Administration of the President of the Russian Federation, the Federation Council, the State Duma and the Security Council.
Russian Institute Director Fradkov held the posts of Director of the Foreign Intelligence Service of the Russian Federation and Chairman of the Russian Government and was appointed Director of the Institute by the Russian President in 2017.
During the in-depth dialogue, the parties discussed issues of global politics, international and regional security, and the situation in the Indo-Pacific region.
It was noted at the meeting that in the face of continuous world tension, scientific contacts and expert-level discussion of the core issues of world agenda serve an important tool for maintaining stability and strengthening mutual understanding between countries.
