A splendid 105 runs by Skipper Venuka Bandara enabled St. Joseph's College Nugegoda to beat Piliyandala Central by 18 runs on first innings in their inter-school under 15 division three tournament cricket match played at Piliyandala and with this victory Nugegoda Joes have booked a berth in the second round.
Venuka had fourteen fours and four sixes and occupied the crease for 61 minutes and faced 105 balls and was associated in a second wicket stand of 143 runs with Menuka Vithanage who scored an unbeaten 53 runs.
Batting first Nugegoda Josephians declared at 209 for 4 and in reply Centralians were all out for 191 runs with Menuka Vithanage capturing 4 for 48.
