Pirith chanting at 600 temples today

A pirith chanting was organised at 600 temples today to invoke blessings to the country, tri-force personnel, Police, Government and the people, Buddha Sasana and Wayamba Development Minister Gamini Jayawickrama Perera said.

The programme will be held centering ‘Ruwanweliseya’ in Anuradhapura, he added. About 500 monks will chant pirith at Ruwanweliseya in the evening today.

Atamasthanadhipathi Ven. Dr. Pallegama Sirinivasa Nayake Thera and Viharadhikari of Ruwanweli Maha Chaithyaramaya Ven. Pallegama Hemarathana Thera will lead the prith chanting.
