Four mobile phones found in Duminda’s ward

Welikada Prison intelligent officers had found four mobile phones including two smart phones from the ward No. 3 of the prison hospital on Tuesday.

Former MP Duminda Silva and former President of the Tangalle Pradeshiya Sabha Sampath Vidanapathirana, who have been sentenced to death, are also receiving treatment in this ward and the mobile phones had been found in its toilet.

According to the prison sources, those mobile phones and the sim cards have been handed over to the Criminal Investigation Department for further investigations.

A photograph which shows Duminda Silva using a smart phone in the prison had gone viral in the social media networks recently prior to the raid.
