TID brought under CID, three SPs transferred

The Terrorism Investigation Division (TID) has been brought under the purview of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

Police Spokesperson SP Ruwan Gunasekara said the TID was previously under the direct supervision of the Inspector General of Police.

However, based on service requirementsthe TID has been brought under the purview of the Criminal Investigations Department DIG by the acting IGP.

Meanwhile, the Superintendent in charge of the Kuliyapitiya Police Division, Oshan Hewawitharana has been transferred to the Kalutara Police College as Deputy Director and SP Nugegoda Division L.S. Sigera has been transferred to the Kuliyapitiya Police Division. SP W.M.A.R. Fernando attached to the President’s Security Division has been transferred to the Nugegoda Police Division, Police Spokesman SP Gunasekara said.
