Railway Trade Unions threatens Strike

Certain Railway workers’ trade unions once again threaten to go for a two day strike from midnight of April 9 aiming to rectify salary anomalies and several other issues.

Union member of Locomotive Drivers’ Union told the Daily News that they will go for the strike based on salary anomalies.

Meanwhile Railway Department high ranking officer told the Daily News that the Department is unaware of this trade union action as the union collective has not informed it officially yet.

He said that other services including Station Masters, Guards, Controllers, and many services may not back to this so called trade union action of Engine Drivers as it is not fair.
