S.Thomas-Wesley a close game

The confrontation between S.Thomas College Mount Lavinia and Wesley College Colombo in their Singer ‘A’ Division inter-Schools league rugby first round match at Thomian grounds in Mount Lavinia today, should turn out to be an interesting game. The match will kick off at 4.00 pm.

SThomas who only lost to arch rivals Royal this season beat St.Peters, Kingswood and Maliyadewa last week at Mount Lavinia under the leadership of Harith Senanayake, therefore they will go out as favourites with a slight edge due to them playing this game on their home grounds.

The forte of the Thomian outfit has been their formidible forwards along with their speedy three quarter line who are certain to give a torrid time to the Wesley outfit.

Mean while Wesley College who beat only Maliyadeva this season lost to Kingswood, Royal and formidible St.Peters College last week, hence they will have to be at their very best if they are to at least make a match of it against this Thomian side.

Going by the two team’s starting line ups and the performance so far in the ongoing ‘Singer’ Inter-School league rugby tournament, S.Thomas will have the upper hand against Murshid Doray’s Wesley outfit today.
