Vidura assaults his sister?

MP Vidura Wickramanayake who was charged for allegedly abusing, threatening and assaulting his sister was yesterday released on bail by Colombo Additional Magistrate Priyanka Liyanage.

Borella Police told court that his own sister had lodged a complaint alleging that Wickramanayake had assaulted her.

The attorney-at-law appearing for the MP however said that his client pleads not guilty to the charges while the complainants lawyer said that the Attorney General has decided to fix the case for trial.

Subsequently the magistrate released the MP on a personal bail of Rs 25,000 and fixed the case for May 24.
