Held with fake Rs. 5,000 note

The Chunnakam Police arrested a 21-year-old suspect with a fake Rs. 5,000 note in his possession at Thangaras Stores, Manippai road, on Sunday evening.

The suspect, Kanagasingham Nidarshan is a resident of Ottuweli, Marisuwil.

He was to be produced before the Mallakam Magistrate Courts yesterday.

Meanwhile, the Peliyagoda Crime Division on a tip-off arrested a female suspect with heroin and ‘ice’ in the Kelaniya Police area on Sunday evening.

Police found three grams and 900 milligrams of heroin and three grams and 710 milligrams of ‘ice’ in her possession.

The 27-year-old suspect, Chandani Pramudika Perera is a resident of Hunupitiya, Wattala. She was to be produced before the Mahara Magistrate yesterday.
