Nabbed with five kilos of heroin in Kaduwela

A suspect who had five kilogrammes of heroin worth nearly Rs. 60 million in his possession was nabbed by the Anti Narcotics Unit, while travelling in a three-wheeler on the Kaduwela - Malabe road, in Pattiyawatte, on Wednesday night. According to the police, the suspect was arrested on a tip-off received by the Anti Narcotics Unit.

The three-wheeler which was used by the suspect to transport the stock was also taken into police custody.

The suspect was identified as Bulath Sinhalage Rajith Nilantha Cooray, 53, a resident of Pattiyawatte, Kaduwela.

He was to be produced before the Kaduwela Magistrate yesterday by the officers of the Anti Narcotics Unit.
