Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre, High Commission of India, Colombo will be presenting Kathak recital by Sri Lankan dancer Thilini Rangika and her disciples on January 18 at 6pm at Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centreauditorium, 16/2 Gregory’s Road, Colombo 7.
Thilini Rangika has begun Kathak dancing from a very early age under the guidance of Moksha Samarasooriya, who is a faculty at Indian Cultural Centre. She has done her Bachelor degree at University of Kelaniya in performing arts, Master’s degree at University of Kelaniya in drama and theater, post graduate diploma at University of Colombo in education and Nritya Bisharad degree at Bhatkande Sangeeth Vidyapith (Lucknow). She is currently working as a dance teacher at Nimala Mariya Balika Maha Vidyalaya, Ja-Ela and as Kathak instructor at Rangara Kathak Dancing Academy. All are cordially invited. Entrance free.
