SL scientist wins James Joule Medal and Prize

Professor Ravi Silva of the University of Surrey, UK, has been awarded the James Joule Medal and Prize recently by the UK's Institute of Physics (IOP) for his contributions to the development of carbon nanomaterials for cross-disciplinary advanced technology applications relevant to materials, optoelectronics, and sustainable energy. Prof. Silva has contributed to research in the UK, as well as other countries, to help Sri Lankan industries by setting up the Sri Lanka Institute of Nanotechnology (SLINTec) in 2008, as a private- public partnership where he is an advisor and a member of the Director Board.
