‘London embassy website not hacked’

The Sri Lankan High Commission in London on Friday pushed back against media reports that its website had been hacked.

In a statement, the Foreign Affairs Ministry said that the High Commission had informed them that their website, which at press time was not accessible, was suffering from internal technical issues.

According to the High Commission, the page had been offline since February 1 “due to technical server issues.” “The High Commission is attending to the matter,” the statement read.

The Foreign Affairs Ministry’s website experienced connection issues this week, but a ministry spokesperson said that it had also been resolved.
