Crocodile captured in Balapitiya seas

A crocodile which attempted to prey on a foreigner who was bathing in the Balapitiya seas was captured and handed over to the Wildlife Department by the Police and residents in the area, yesterday.

The foreigner had been able to run to the shore before being snatched by the crocodile, after a youth sounded the alarm to everyone that a crocodile was approaching.

The residents in the area said that they had complained to the Police saying that a crocodile has been washed ashore after floods and until yesterday authorities have not been able to capture the reptile.
