'EDEX Future Leaders Conference 2018’ to strengthen school prefects

Empowering Sri Lankan youth and encouraging them to utilize their skills and talents to become successful persons in their future activities was highlighted by Royal College EDEX committee at a seminar, conducted under the theme 'EDEX - Future Leaders Conference 2018’ held at BMICH .

EDEX, Chairman Mahinda Galagedera made these remarks in Sinhala and English medium to over 700 school prefects including Head Prefects, Deputy Head Prefects and Prefects currently receiving education in 70 private and Government schools in the Western Province. Professionals in the caliber of Sri Lanka Army, Former Commander General Daya Rathnayake, Sri Lanka Army, Admiral Major (Retd) Ruvan D Ranatunga , Sri Lanka Navy, Former Commander Thisara Samarasinghe and Sri Lanka Military Academy, Diyatalawa, Commandant Brigadier Priyantha Senaratne also attended and shared their knowledge with school prefects.,

Opening the session, Chairman Galagedara who has a wealth of expertise locally and globally in the field of hospitality industry highlighted that youth are the back bone in the country and it is everybody's duty to encourage and empowering them to reach the pinnacle of achievement to enhance their leadership potential.

He said youth should be crafted themes relating to leadership, time-management, skills developments and talents which are the main ethics of EDEX.

Galagedera further said youth should always try to be professionally and personally successful persons and reiterated that the vision of EDEX is empowering their talents and skills which help them to perform well in all fields.

Reminding the EDEX Expo- 2018 Exhibition and job fair, concluded last month at BMICH , Chairman Galagedara thanked the Prefects for taking time off their busy schedules to visit the EDEX Expo and said during the three day exhibition period prefects were able to see for themselves the choices, options and opportunities available at the EDEX Expo.

Sri Lankan Industry professionals such as Kapruka, Founder Chairman Dulith Herath, Managing Director Hemas Pharmaceuticals Pvt Ltd, Kasturi Chellaraja Wilson, Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation, Executive Chairman Hemaka Amarasuriya were also present and shared views about future development activities with participant school prefects.

The event was sponsored by ANC Education, the leader in the education market in Sri Lanka and member of CEG Education Holdings that was established in 2002 and progressed into a fully-fledged educational conglomerate in Sri Lanka.
