Three students knocked down on pedestrian crossing

 

Three students were injured after they were knocked down by a cab at a pedestrian crossing opposite Weeramohan Maha Vidyalaya in Dambulla yesterday.

Dambulla Police said the accident had occurred around 6.50 a.m. The cab had knocked another vehicle when the driver attempted to flee after the accident.

The injured students were admitted to Dambulla hospital.

The students aged between 11 and 12 years were identified as residents of Sigiriya and Palwehara.

The cab driver who was arrested is to be produced before the Dambulla magistrate.

Dambulla Police are investigating.
