Vogue Jewellers receives ISO 9001:2015

Vogue Jewellers (Private) Ltd became the first jeweller in to be certified by the latest standard of quality assurance ISO 9001:2015.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Vogue Jewellers (Private) Ltd, Udara Karunathilake speaking to the Daily News Business said that this is a great achievement as it provides the customers the reassurance and trust they need.

“The previous quality assuring standard prior to revision ISO 9001:2015 which was ISO 9001:2008 too was gained by Vogue Jewellers and they managed to become the first in Asia to gain the standard. Getting an ISO is important but not all together difficult. However being the first in the industry to achieve this puts our quality standards above others in the world,” Udara said.

He stated that the revised standard was given with recognition of the sustainability of the company and the ability to take risks and govern them to ensure the sustainability of the company. It monitored the capacity of the company to face any business risk in the future. Vogue has been given the latest standard as it has been recognised as a stable company by the body.

“Throughout the years we have been committed towards our customer service. We provide the best for our customers we have secured their trust for 50 years providing them products of supreme quality. These have been recognised by the standard body,” Karunathilake said.

Vogue Jewellers according to Karunathilake is an organisation striving continuously for improvement. They constantly release new lines of products so as to give their customers the best of style and design.

“We have been in the trend setter of the industry. We provide the best Bridal jewellery for our customers and we have achieved in being the Bridal Jeweller in Sri Lanka,” he said.

Vogue Jewellers has been internationally recognised and is approached by many foreigners. Karunathilake stated that they receive many customers from, China, United States, United Kingdom , Europe and Australia. Vogue is currently looking into expanding internationally however it was emphasised that this would not be done compromising the quality of the products and service.

Vogue Jewellers first opened in 1962 at 1st Cross Street Colombo11 by Sarath Hemachandra, in 1967 the company moved to Colpetty so as to be more accessible to their clientele. Throughout the years Vogue has expanded to many regions in the country.
